“Everything we see is
a shadow cast by that which we do not see” – Martin Luther King.
My trip to Gujarat reminded me of this excellent quote of the famous
American humanitarian Martin Luther King. While riding into the white desert of Kutch , I was amused to see its vastness.
This time we planned
our trip with Zenith Holidays and believe me my trip was extraordinary this
time. We chose the group escorted toursIndian and overseas from this company and we are very satisfied with its
tour service.
I was actually enjoying
the barrenness of this place. I felt as if I was only accompanied by my shadow although
my friends were also there along with me. The Great Rann of Kutch is a seasonal
salt marsh covering Kutch district of Gujarat and Sindh province of Pakistan .
The vastness of the desert covers an area of about 7,500 sq kms and is known as
the largest salt desert in the world.
Moving towards the Pakistan
border, we were told to stop at the check-post as we are not allowed to go
beyond this. Like good people, we obeyed their order and started chatting with
two Indian soldiers. Nice people with descent behavior. I was wondering how
these brave soldiers from far-flung places are trying to earn their livelihood
to support their families. They have chosen a tough life for themselves as
there always prevails a cold war between the two countries.
With the sunset and
approaching dusk, we decided to leave that place and visited Bhuj, the
provincial capital of Kutch . My eyes were
completely stunned to look at the ravishing Gujarati dresses rich embroidered
with mirror and zari work. We could not resist ourselves from purchasing those
colorful clothes.
The overall experience
was of our trip to Gujarat was awesome. If you
plan for a trip to this beautiful place, book the packages from the best tour and travel company in India .
